Harborough Young People’s Counselling comes to Archway Health & Wellbeing

The last two years of the pandemic have been challenging for everyone, not least in terms of mental health. Now more than ever, many of our children and young people need safe spaces where they can process their worries and challenges, Counselling can provide that.

When I was looking to set up my practice as part of Harborough Young People’s Counselling, it was important to me that I work somewhere reputable that offered a high level of professional services where young people could come and feel safe and comfortable.

Archway Health & Wellbeing was the perfect fit. Well-established in the area, having operated for 25 years, it is a respected organisation with high ethical standards. Having been a client using various services over the years, I felt confident that the centre would be a great home for Harborough Young People’s Counselling. It also already has an established and experienced team of psychotherapists and counsellors working with both adults and children, so I knew I was joining a great outfit.

Why the free 20-minute consultation is so important

All practitioners at the centre also offer 20-minute free consultations as standard. This is a particularly useful service when choosing a counsellor as seeking help can be a big step for many young people and their families. It’s really important to understand how counselling can help and to find a counsellor that is right for the child or young person. The no-obligation consultation helps ensure that counsellor and client are a good fit and is a great way of laying the foundations of a secure therapeutic relationship.

About Archway Health & Wellbeing

Archway Health & Wellbeing was set up in 1997. A family run business, it is owned by Market Harborough based husband and wife team Alec and Stella Welton. Since its inception, the practice relocated in 2010 from its original Coventry Road site in the town to Lubenham Hill. Not only has the space expanded (plenty of room for free parking here), but the services it offers have expanded too, making it a place where people can take a truly holistic approach to their health and wellbeing.

Starting with just three treatment rooms, Archway Health has grown to be one of the largest of its kind in the Midlands. It now has 10 treatment rooms, and 2 studio spaces with 20 practitioners offering a wide range of treatments from acupuncture to chiropractic. It is also home to Harborough Hearing which offers a variety of auditory services and BodyFitness personal training.

Classes at the centre include Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Sound Meditation, Dance Cardio and Mindfulness. These are supported by treatments such as acupuncture, aromatherapy, zero balancing, reiki, chiropractic, reflexology, shiatsu, physiotherapy and sports massage.
